Flowers in a Pot -Cardabilities Sketch #6

I really enjoy working with sketches, this week I played with sketch #6 for our Cardabilities challenge... love it!

This sweet flower pot is from Pink Petticoat digital stamps, I love Dene's simple whimsical style. I used my copic markers to color this image, then added just a little bling to the pot.

For the "Thinking of You" image I used my George and Basic Shapes cricut cartridge on page 127 of the handbook. The Scallops are various sized from the Mini Monograms cartridge.

Cardabilities shares two great sketches each month on the 15th and 30th, along with several ideas from the design team which I'm thrilled to be a part of. Go see more wonderfully creative ideas using sketch #6 -HERE

Songbird -Note of Thanks

I love song birds and any cute birdie images, and Designed 2 Delight has an adorable digital stamp that is so sweet.
I colored using my copic markers and pulled out my old scalloped scissors for the scalloped edges. I love this background paper, it's from DCWV spring stack, and the little musical note charm I had in my stash was just the prefect embellishment to add to this card.

I hope you are having fun in the sun... at Fantabulous Cricut it's time for "Challenge Me Monday"
Challenge #15
Summer Time at the Beach:
Create a project for summer using something you would find at the beach.

I would find flip flops, sunshine, and waves at the beach... a place to "Escape"
I used my new "Life is a Beach" cricut cartridge. The flip flops are on page 64 of the handbook and were cut at 3 3/4", the wave is on page 45 I used the border feature cut at 1 1/2", the escape word is on page 38 I used the Title Words feature cutting it out twice, then used scissors to cut off the leaf.
The hanging charms are a fun feature on the cartridge, I cut the charms at 1 1/4" the sun is on page 44, flip flops page 64, the wave on page 45. Then on page 70 is the solid background charm using the shift key, I placed behind each charm.

Chicken N' Eggs

I'm playing with another great sketch from "Cardabilities" blog today.

I have a very good friend who lives outside of town that we get our chicken eggs from, so I wanted to make her a thank you card and thought this would be perfect... cluck, cluck.

I used my design studio to create the sizing of each image. I love using DS, I find is so easy to get just the exact size to fit my 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card (or what every size of card I'm working with).

This is sketch #5 that Karan, from Cardabilites, has created for us to use for this weeks challenge. Love this sketch!
I feel so lucky to be on the Design Team, with a wonderful group of talented ladies.
See what the Cardabilities design team created using the same sketch -HERE

I used the following three cartridges: From my Kitchen, George and Basic Shapes & Home Accents.
*From my Kitchen- Eggs pg. 66, Rooster pg. 77, Scalloped Oval and Oval pg. 76 (sheep body), Tab pg.67
*George- Rectangles pg. 109 (adjusted sizing)
*Home Accents- Leaves (#35 on my key pad- various sizes)

Thanks Dad

It's time for "Challenge Me" Monday at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.

Challenge #14 Celebrate Dear Dad:
Create a masculine project for a dear dad.

I have a cut file for this card you'll find it at the end of this post, nothing fancy about the file, I just found it very easy to create using Design Studio, instead of figuring out the measurements that I needed.

Below is a photo of all the pieces that I cut for this card.

The inside of the card, I like the look and it's a great space for writing a message too.Come see what the design team has created for the "Celebrate Dear Dad" challenge -HERE.

Trail Mix for Dad -Everyday Cricut

I remember when I was about 5 or so and I was learning to tie my shoes, and who do you think I asked to teach me? My dad, of course, he was working out in the yard, which is where I usually found him when I needed him, he stopped what he was doing and knelt down to show me how to time my shoes, my eyes weld up with tears when I think about the patients he had with me. I was always a daddy's girl, I suppose I still am.

For my Friday inspiration at Everyday Cricut I'm sharing a wonderful treat box for "Dad".
The prefect cartridge for "Camp Out" because my day enjoys the outdoors. The other must have cartridge I'm using is "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More" a must have if you enjoy making gift boxes. For the word "DAD" I used the Zoobaloo cartridge.

For details about this project please visit Everyday Cricut -HERE.

Thank you to everyone for your warm welcome and your wonderful comments and as I've spent my week at Everyday Cricut, I have truly enjoyed every minute! Thank you again, it has been a blast!

Don't forget to leave a comment at Everyday Cricut for your chance to win one of the two cartridges... Give a Hoot and Nursery Rhymes. Good Luck to everyone!

Bloom Where You're Planted -for Everyday Cricut

I am fortunate to be the wife of a career military man, and we have moved to 5 different Air Force bases in the US and around the world. I have enjoyed all the places that we've been, It's been a wonderful adventure, I have met so many wonderful people along the way, the military has been a blessing for our family. Even through all the ups and downs, I've always tried to live by a saying that I learned years ago in my youth...

"Bloom where you're planted"

We don't always get to choose our circumstances in life, but we do get to choose our attitude and do the best we can with what we have.

For Thursday's Everyday Cricut project, I have a "Home Decor" creation using a $3 picture fame, I turned it into a lovely wall hanging, using the words "Bloom where you're planted"

For details about this project please visit Everyday Cricut -HERE

"Bloom where you're planted" no mater where you are. :)

Remember to leave a comment at Everyday Cricut for your chance to win one of these two fantastic cartridges.... Give a Hoot and Nursery Rhymes. Good Luck!!!

Yummy Cupcake Mouse

Even mice deserve a yummy cupcake now and then. Woo Hoo, my first card for the Meljen's design team, I feel so lucky to be a part of Melissas team!

This is Meljen's design "cupcake mouse" digital stamp it's available in her store -Meljen's Designs. This mouse is so adorable enjoying his cupcake, it must be his birthday to get such a yummy treat.

The challenge this week was to incorporate some "sparkle, glitter, bling".
I added tiny turquoise rhinestones on the cupcake and in the center of the white flowers, bling!

I added a small strip of paper to the inside of the card to give it just a little bit of flair.
I used copic markers to color this image.... I'm still learning to use them.

Come view the challenge -HERE, and see the other wonderful creations from Meljen's design team!

Musical Birdie -for Everyday Cricut

I'm here in Utah visiting my parents, and I love sitting on their backyard patio listening to the birds sing, and watching the humming birds come and drink sugar water from the containers that my mom hangs out for them.

On that note... today I have a very sweet singing birdie card again using design studio to help me create. I've been using DS more and more, the reason being is because I don't have to think about the measurements for each shape, it's defiantly a great investment to your cricut machine.

For details about this card please visit Everyday Cricut -HERE
