Eek! Frogs in the Cauldron -Craft Foam

Last week for the Thursday Tutorial on Fantabulous Cricut , I posted a video by Cathie Rigby. She showed how to cut craft foam (sometimes called fun foam) using your cricut machine. I loved this idea and was looking forward to trying it -I previously tried cutting the craft foam with the adhesive sticky backing, but I couldn't get it to work (believe me I tried many times), so when I purchased this craft foam from Wal-mart I couldn't wait to try it ... again.

I followed the instructions exactly as Cathie described in her video and it worked great!!!!
I did try using small cuts like the frogs and the letters, and discovered that cutting larger shapes like the cauldron do cut much nicer. But as you can see on my card, small cuts can work, they just don't cut as cleanly. Check out the video, I posted it -HERE on FCCB

EEK... Frogs jumping out of the Cauldron
The frogs and cauldron were cut from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge, seriously there are a ton of great shapes on that cartridge, Love it! The letters "EEK!" are from the Alphalicious Cricut cartridge.
I punched the green boiling brew using different shaped punches, then used Stickles on all those bubbles. I hand drew the frogs faces using a fine tip sharpie pen, I think those frogs are a little nervous... well wouldn't you be?
The paper edges were distressed using a paper distressing tool, and the "Happy Halloween" is a clear stamp from "My Craft Spot" the stamp set is called "Happy Haunting".
I added this card to My Craft Spot -ribbon challenge this week.
Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Oh Baby Baby Hippo Note Card Box

This super cute baby card gift box I actually made quite some time ago but never posted it, and it is just too cute to pass by, also since I've been posting a few baby shower items I though it would be great to add it now.
I did create this using my Design Studio, and welded the tree and the words to the gift box.
Tags bags boxes and more was used for the box. I cut a second box using designer paper, then trimmed about 1/4" off each side to layer over the white cardstock box.
The adorable hippo is from the ZooBalloo cricut cartridge page 89 of the handbook.
The tree page 121, and the "Oh Baby" is on page 124 all from ZooBalloo
ZooBalloo cricut cartridge also has a cute card feature that I used to make the hippo note cards that I placed inside the box. I made a square window from George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge.
Thanks so much for visiting, and thank you for you comments they really make my day!!

Baby Shower Diaper Cake

I've created another diaper cake for a baby shower, and this time it is for a baby boy. The first diaper cake I made was for a baby girl baby shower and I shared photos of how I put the cake together, you can view the details -HERE if you would like to see.
Just before I headed out to the baby shower I made this matching ducky shape card, using the New Arrival Cricut cartridge I welded two ducks together with my gypsy, then cut one green duck for the front layer, then yellow for the bill . I didn't save the file so I don't have the measurement of the card, but I believe it as approximately 4" high. For the eye I just used two sizes of hole punches.
The BABY is from the Alphalicious Cricut cartridge and welded together before cutting.
This was a super quick card and looks great with this diaper cake.
Thanks so much for visiting :)

Froggy Baby Shower Invitation

Hello everyone,
I made these super cute baby shower invites for a friend, simply sweet!
The invite was a postcard style (only a card front) measuring 5.5" x 4.75" this made it easy to be hand delivered, or placed in a envelope .
I used the Create a Critter cricut cartridge.
The lily pad was cut using my gypsy at 3.09" width 1.94" height. The frog only has two layers, the main body and the belly layer.
I cut one frog with the face features (eyes and mouth) then used that as my template and traced the face with a black marker, I did this to save on paper because I made 60 invites. The frog was cut at 2.14" width and 2.21" height.
For the dragonfly I welded two wings together, then cut the body of the dragonfly and hand drew a smiley face.
Tomorrow I'll show the cute diaper cake that I made for the baby shower.
Thanks for visiting my blog today :)

Flower corsage -For Special Ladies

I was asked to make a few flower corsages for ladies for our church enrichment activity. Each month the leaders want to spotlight one lady and let her know how special she is and present her with a corsage to wear. Below are the flowers that I made.

I used the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut cartridge and used 4 different flower shapes. Each flower has 6 layers cut at 3", 2.75", 2.5", 1.75", 1.5", and 1". The leaf was cut at 2.5"
To make my flowers I started by getting each flower layer and leaf wet then wrinkled it up, then let it air dry, or used my hair dryer to speed up the process, when they were mostly dried, I gently unfolded each layer then finished drying the flowers. Each layer was brushed using distressed ink, then I layered each flower together and added a vintage brad, glued the leaves on the back side and added a bit of cream color twill fabric (If you look closely in the photo you can see it). I printed a tag "I am Special" on vellum cardstock for the finising touch.

Thanks so much for visiting today, I love comments.
Have a great day!
