Just Buggin' Challenge #23 Valentine Love

Time to share the "Love" for our family and friends.
Today is Wednesday and Just Buggin' is starting up another weekly challenge, this weeks title is "Love Ya" and the challenge is to make something for Valentine's Day using your Cricut.

I used the Storybook cricut cartridge for each of my letters, using the shadow feature for the light pink cardstock, the accent/Blackout feature for the dark pink, and the white letters were cut using no features, just the plain letter.

I used a white gel pen to make tiny dots on each of the dark pink layers.
I thought is would be fun to add some extra cardstock to the inside of the card with a sweet little hand cut heart .

Ribbon and a heart charm make the perfect embellishments to my "Love" card.

Just Buggin' Challenge #22 -Pear-fect Together

This card is simply too cute, I made if for the Just Buggin' challenge -All About Food. The challenge was to make a food themed project, it can be a treat container, food themed layout, etc...
The the faces on the pears, I used Peachy Keen Stamps the basic paper doll face assortment. The words "you're Pear-fect Together" is printed using my computer printer.
Aren't these two pears just adorable?

Just Buggin' Challenge #21 -My Little Dancer

This weeks challenge at Just Buggin' there is another great theme... Monochromatic Challenge.
Use a monochromatic color theme on your cricut project.

My color theme is blue with a lovely little dancer from "A Child's Year" Cricut cartridge. The little dancer is on page 73, I also cut the card from this page as well. The card was cut at 5 1/2" the patterned paper layer on front was cut at 4 3/4" and my little dancer was cut at 3 1/2".

Just Buggin' Challenge #19

Just Buggin' has a great challenge this week, it's titled -Stamping Fun
The challenge is to stamp on you Cricut die-cuts

I have a super fun 3-D project this week using Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut cartridge.
I had my daughter pull out her stamp sets so I could stamp on my project, I found an cute flower stamp set from Stampin' Up that I stamped all over my box.

I chose the flower box on page 120, perfect with flower stamps, don't you think?
I cut the box using the blackout feature so there were no windows or ribbon holes. I also used the "fit to page" button on my Cricut expression machine so I could get the largest possible cut on a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock, which cut at 8 3/4".
After I cut the image I stamped all over the box with flowers and leaves.
I also stamped a larger flower for a gift tag
The square box is aproximatly 2 1/2" high (not including the flower on top).

Just Buggin' Challenge #18

This weeks Just Buggin' challenge is "In the Shadows"
Use the shadow or blackout feature with your die cut.

I can always use a birthday card so I grabbed my "Doodlecharms" Cricut cartridge and cut out the cupcake listed on page 108.
I've circled the images that I cut with my Cricut so you could see which pieces I used for this card.
Below is a photo of the cut pieces and some tools I used to make the cupcake card.
The base of the card is size 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" then folded in half.
The floral paper is cut 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" cutting this size give a small border around the edge of the card. All the cupcake pieces were cut at 4"
I decided to use different size hole punches for the confetti on the cupcake, the crimping tool added a fun texture to the cupcake base, after crimping I brushed a little ink over the image.
I cut the candle four times, two orange and two yellow to give a dimensional look.I used pop-dots to on the candles and to pop the cupcake off the card.Just Buggin' has weekly challenges, come join the fun!

Just Buggin' Challenge #17

Challenge #16 -Inky Fingers
This challenge is to use ink to alter your die cuts.

One of my favorite inking techniques is to use the Cuttlebug embossing folders then gently rub an ink pad over the embossed die cut, it makes the image look great.
The vase and shadow were cut at 1 1/4" from the "Walk in my Garden" Cricut cartridge pg. 102 I then embossed using the "Textile Texture" embossing folder. Flowers from pgs. 1 and 6 in various sizes ranging from 3/4" to 1 1/2" then embossed using the "Swiss Dots" embossing folder. I inked all die cuts over t he embossed image and the edges.

Just Buggin' Challenge #16

Just Buggin' challenge #16 -Santa's Helper --Make a gift for someone you love
Come join me in this challenge over at Just Buggin'

This project that I made is very simple, easy to make in just a few hours, and makes a beautiful gift. This frame is for a very special friend.

Photo frames can be purchased very inexpensively. I got this frame at Wal-Mart for $3 it had a mat for two 3" x 5" photos, I just removed the mat to make my project.

I used Cricut cartridge Storybook for the "Peace" lettering in a dark red, then used the "textile" embossing folder with my Cuttlebug machine. One of my favorite tips is to gently rub the embossed letter with ink, it just makes the embossing pop even more. I placed the red lettering on a black using the shadow feature for the letter.
I used my SCAL for the "be unto you" the font I used is Shelley Volante. I cut the letters on black vinyl and placed it on the outside of the glass frame. If you have any questions just let me know here in the comments.

Just Buggin' Challenge #15

Challenge #15 -Happy Holidays
Make a winter or holiday or Christmas themed project.

I went with a winter project, a gift box full of cards.
The cards can be used a winter thank you, or added to a gift or holiday treat.

I started with Tags Bags Boxes & More cartridge. Pg 115 gift box with window.

I cut two boxes the exact same size 5 1/2" each, using both gold cardstock and a pattern paper. With the pattern paper I cut where the score marks are including the handles. Discard tabs and handles.

Then I eyeballed using my scissors and cut about 1/4" off each side. I keep only the inside, to adhere to the gold box as shown below.
I made 6 cards for the gift. With the extra patterned paper I cut 1" strips to add to the cards. Each gold card measures 2 1/4" x 5" (2 1/4" x 2 1/2" when folded).
I used the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge for the cute snowmen sized at 1 1/2" and 1" for the smaller snowman pg. 82. Snowflakes are also from Doodlecharms pg. 83, in various sizes.Just Buggin' has weekly challenges to inspire us to use our Cricut machines, come join the fun!

Just Buggin' Challenge 14

Just Buggin' Challenge #14 is here -Layers

The challenge is to use at least two die cuts and layer them together. (for instance, cut out flowers in two different sizes and layer them on top of each other, two snowflakes, etc)

I have so much fun creating this card, then after I made it I referred to the challenge... does this cake and the cake shadow count as two die cuts? hmmm... well this was just fun!

Cricit cartridge used: Stretch Your Imagination page 61
I cut each color of cardstock several times then layered them on top of each other making a very thick cake, even the candles are layered.
The card is cut 8 1/4" x 9 1/4" then folded in half the long way. This card fits in a legal size envelope.

Just Buggin' Challenge 13

Just buggin challenge #13 Sew it!
This weeks challenge was to use sewing, faux sewing, or sewing stamps on your project!

I chose to use my sewing machine, I love to sew on paper.

Sew It

I cut the oval out using "George and Basic Shapes" cartridge, then carefully cut it down on each side eyeballing the distance from the edge.


I used "A Child's Year" Cricut cartridge page 58
I used a brown ink pad to rub over the stitching and on the edges of each layer before assembling the card. I love popping up the images, I used pop-dots.
