Embellishment Tutorial -Designed 2 Delight Extravaganza

I love this little "Cup of Posies" digital image from Designed 2 Delight, for my embellishment tutorial, and as a special treat each design member of D2D has created a beautiful handmade embellishment along with a tutorial to share.

My tutorial is "Hand Stitching with Beads"
I've previously colored my image with copic markers, then used the following tools to create my stitching embellishment.
**Piercing mat, piercing tool, needle and thread, small seed beads**
When choosing your beads make sure that your needle is small enough that the beads will slide all the way past the needles eye and onto the thread.

I pierced 10 holes around the heart image on the mug, I've numbered each hole, to help with the tutorial directions.
Using the needle and thread I pushed up through hole #1 (I kept my thread doubled for thickness) I did not tie a knot, instead I place a piece of tape to hold my threads in place.

I place my first bead onto my needle then went down hole #2, thread up through #3, add my second bead, down #4, up hole #5. I continued around the heard until I came up through hole #1. Then continued adding beads in the same manner as I went around the heart in reverse direction.

When I came back up hole #1 I added one more bead to the bottom of the heart, and took my thread back through the same hole (#1) as shown in the photo below.

For the flowers, I poked holes in the center of each. I came up one hole with my needle, added a white bead then went back down the same hole. I continued until I had added beads to all flower centers.
And just to show you the back of my project... it doesn't have to look pretty, see how messy mine is :)

I also added beads to patterned paper for a fun corner embellishment. I used a Stampin Up piercing template to make my holes, you also could use a ruler.
I Then used the same method as above to add red beads to my punched design.

My finished card
I used my computer and printed out the "Thinking of You" saying, then added two beads for more embellishment.

Music is What Feelings Sound Like

I just received my new cartridge "Summer in Paris" so I had to create a quick card. I let my daughter choose the first image that I would use and she choose the piano. All my girls have had piano lessons through out their life and I love to hear them play.
I found a simple saying about music, printed it from my computer and added it to my card. "Music is what feelings sound like."

Challenge Me Monday -at Fantabulous Cricut -at the Zoo

Ready for another fun challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut?

Challenge #20
At the Zoo
Create a project using a Cricut cut animal

A few of the design team got the opportunity to play with acrylic stamps donated by Joy's Life. The stamp set is "Lots of Pun" see it -HERE these stamps go great with cricut cut animal cards and oh so fun! I used the "Cow are you" and the "Furever Friends" stamps
This sweet cow and tree is from the Create A Critter cartridge. The tree is on page 68 of the handbook cut at 2 1/4", the happy cow on page 60 cut at 2 1/4", the cloud is also from pg. 60, I cut one at 1" then 2 more at 3/4." The patterned paper is from DCWV.

I love this cute hedgehog card, it just makes me smile. The hedgehogs are cut from Create A Critter and on page 62 at 1 1/2" each, for one of the hedgehogs I used the "flip" feature. The flower from the same page is also cut at 1 1/2" (no real dial size was used).

You got to check out what the design team has created over at FCCB -HERE ... fantabulous!

Thursday's are a great day for a new challenge along with new images at Meljen's. Melissa has created 5 new images that are so fun for summer days.

The challenge is to create an "easel card," this is my first time creating this fun card design, I got instructions for my easel card at Splitcoast Stampers -HERE.
I used the new "Brook at the Beach" digital stamp, I love this adorable care free image.

I used my copic markers to color the image, and George and Basic Shapes cricut cartridge to cut out the oval shapes. Text is printed from my computer.
