I love this little "Cup of Posies" digital image from Designed 2 Delight, for my embellishment tutorial, and as a special treat each design member of D2D has created a beautiful handmade embellishment along with a tutorial to share.
My tutorial is "Hand Stitching with Beads"

**Piercing mat, piercing tool, needle and thread, small seed beads**
When choosing your beads make sure that your needle is small enough that the beads will slide all the way past the needles eye and onto the thread.

I pierced 10 holes around the heart image on the mug, I've numbered each hole, to help with the tutorial directions.
Using the needle and thread I pushed up through hole #1 (I kept my thread doubled for thickness) I did not tie a knot, instead I place a piece of tape to hold my threads in place.

For the flowers, I poked holes in the center of each. I came up one hole with my needle, added a white bead then went back down the same hole. I continued until I had added beads to all flower centers.
And just to show you the back of my project... it doesn't have to look pretty, see how messy mine is :)

I also added beads to patterned paper for a fun corner embellishment. I used a Stampin Up piercing template to make my holes, you also could use a ruler.
I Then used the same method as above to add red beads to my punched design.
