Monkey for Baby Card -My Craft Spot Project

I'm Wild about you Monkey!

It's Monday and time for another great challenge and it's a wild one over at My Craft Spot!
This weeks challenge is
Wild About You
Include a wild animal on your project

My husbands niece had a baby boy a few weeks back so I made a tie blanket for him, and a fun matching card to go with. The monkey was a perfect wild animal for the "Wild About You" challenge.
This card is a 6" x 6" size, I used the Create a Critter cricut cartridge for the monkey and the leaves. The monkey and vine was cut at 4 1/2" pg. 46 of the handbook, the leaf on pg. 51 cut at sizes 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" using real dial size.
Side view, I popped up the monkey, so cute!
Close up of the monkey and leaves. I wrinkled up the leaves and then inked them up using Tim Holtz Forest Moss ink pad. The monkey was inked using Vintage Photo ink pad.
I love this little saying "Bundle of Joy"! This is stamped using the Bundle of Joy stamp set from My Craft Spot, it can be purchased -HERE
I used my sewing machine and a zig-zag stitch over the tab.
I used one of my die-namics metal dies from My Favorite Things to cut out the tabs to stamp on.
Inside of the card, stamps are from the same stamp set Bundle of Joy from My Craft Spot.
Thank you for stopping by today, and remember to head over to My Craft Spot to see the other "Wild" projects created by Kimberly's fabulous design team, and join us for this weeks challenge... Wild About You!  My Craft Spot -HERE.

I took my daughter back to college this week so I made these fun Fall notebooks for my daughter and each of her roommates, this is the "Fall" semester for them. The notebooks can be used for grocery list, notes to friends or perhaps a little gratitude/thankful list.
I used two of Kimberly's new stamp sets, the Stampin' Around Fall and the Happy Thanksgiving, as well as the new Tiny Doily Metal Dies. All these stamp sets and dies are available for purchase today at My Craft Spot woo-hoo!
The three crinkle ribbon colors that I used are Pumpkin Spice, Carmel and Acorn available at My Craft Shop. I taped them down to my patterned paper then used my sewing machine to sew a zig-zag stitch over each ribbon.
The leaves were cut using Everyday Paper Dolls cricut cartridge pg. 35, I crinkled them up a bit then sponged them using Tim Holtz Antique Photo ink.
I added a button tied with Vintage Chocolate bakers twine on top of the bow, available at My Craft Spot
Below are two of the stamped sayings from the Happy Thanksgiving stamp set.

I bought a pack 8 /12" x 11" notepads from an office store and took it to my local copy store and had them cut the pads in the three long equal sizes, it was very inexpensive.

Day 5 Stamp Release Party! -So Blessed

Hello all my friends, I hope you have followed along this week for the fabulous Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, I know the design team and I have really enjoyed sharing so many inspiring projects with you, and today day 5, the inspiration continues.
We are showing a sneak peek with you of the new Happy Thanksgiving stamp set a beautiful stamp set that is wonderful for your Fall and Thanksgiving cards and projects.

Today I've created a lovely Fall card with loads of leaves and acorns.
I used a spellbinder die image to stamp the saying on, it's a beautiful saying and could be used all year round.
The acorns were cut using the Create A Critter cricut cartridge pg. 32 cut in various sizes, I used my Cuttlebug Machine and the embossing folder Swiss Dots to emboss the top of the acorns, then inked the edges using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink pad.
Leaves were cut using Everyday Paper Dolls cricut cartridge pg. 35, I crinkled up the leaves a bit then inked them using the same ink pad.
The swirls are a metal die from My Favorite Things, Die-namics Fancy Flourish.
The brown border is a border punch from Recollections, which I used my sewing machine to sew over with a zig-zag stitch.
Side view of card.
The crinkle ribbon is from My Craft Spot, pumpkin spice is the color.

Day 4 Stamp Release Party! Rattle Dem Bones Coffin

Here we are at day 4 of the Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, and I'm having so much fun with these Halloween projects! Today we are sharing a sneak peek of the "Ghostly Greetings" stamp set, you will have so much fun creating Halloween cards and project using this set.

For my project I loved the phrase "Rattle dem bones" and when I saw it I had a creative idea in mind of a project that I wanted to make... I made a scary coffin, of course.
The coffin is cut from the Happy Hauntings cricut cartridge pg. 72, I used black Bazzill textured paper, then gently rubbed just the edge of a white ink pad over the paper before putting the coffin box together.
After I stamped the phrase, I wrinkled and tore the paper the inked the edges with a black ink pad.
I used tiny Prima Roses to make a bouquet and added leaves that I gently rubbed black ink on, I also added some thin twine that unraveled.
I used the Deep Plum crinkle ribbon (purchased from My Craft Spot) and tore and shredded it to give it a worn our look.
My little stack of bones were cut from the skeleton on the Happy Hauntings cricut cartridge pg. 29. I only used three bones and cut each three times and glued them together to make them thicker, then gently sponged black ink on the edges and wrapped all three bones using the twine.
The bats are from the Paper Doll Dress Up cricut cartridge pg. 53. I omitted the face and lines on the wings using my gypsy machine, then just added dots for the eyes using my white gel pen. I also gently rubbed the edges of the bats with a white ink pad.
Below is the inside of the coffin, I never go over board with the "scary" side of Halloween, so I made it cute and fun. This skeleton is from Paper Doll Dress Up cricut cartridge pg. 53.
I used my black mini gel pen in my cricut machine to trace the skeleton, then cut out the image using the machine as well. I put the skeleton on a homemade wobble spring so he wiggles a bit.
The Happy Halloween! phrase is from the same "Ghostly Greetings" stamp set.
Close up of the skeleton.

Day 3 Stamp Release Party! Happy Pumpkin Day!

I am loving this stamp release party and hope you are too, there have been so many creative ideas that Kimberly and the design team have shared with all of us, and there are many more projects to come. Today is day 3 of the Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot and we are giving you a sneak peek at the third stamp set, "Best Witches to You". This stamp set has 17 phrases and once again Kimberly has used really fun fonts for each word.

My project is a cute pumpkin card, that can fit in a legal size envelope 9 1/2" x 4 1/4"
A closer look at the saying "Happy Pumpkin Day!"  so cute! and I couldn't help myself I used the new Tiny Doily Metal Die set, for the doily and the circle (the pumpkin stem is cut by hand).
I used Marmalade crinkle ribbon, wrinkled it up then used my sewing machine to sew a zig-zag stitch over it.
I used the Mini Monsters cricut cartridge to cut out the two pumpkins, the one with the face was cut at 2 1/2" the other was cut at 3 1/4"
The two Cuttlebug embossing folders that I used were Seeing Spots and Mosaic Texture, then I used my Tim Holtz Tea Dye stamp pad to ink the edges of the pumpkins and leaves.

Day 2 Stamp Release Party! Halloween Frame

Hi everyone, welcome to day 2 of the Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot
Today Kimberly and the design team are giving a sneak peek of the new stamp set "Spooky Treats". Kimberly did a great job designing this stamp set, I love the font she used to for her phrases, it's so spooky.

Today I'm sharing a Halloween frame that I cut from the Happy Hauntings cricut cartridge, the background frame was originally square, but I stretched it a bit using my gypsy so it was a rectangle shape.
I heat embossed the phrase for the center of my frame.
I used crystal effects on the crow and the two bats, and while it was still wet I added tiny red rhinestones for their eyes.
The crinkle ribbon is deep purple, and available at My Craft Spot.

Day 1 Stamp Release Party! Teacher Apple Box

Woo Hoo... today is day one of the Stamp Release Party at My Craft Spot, this week Kimberly and the talented design team (which I'm thankful to be a part of) will be sharing projects all week long from the five new stamp sets and one brand new metal die set, you are going to love these stamp sets and metal die.

Each day, there will be prizes at My Craft Spot, then on Saturday we'll have a design team Stamp Release Party Blog Hop with prized at each blog along the way!
Join us everyday this week!!
Today, day one, we are featuring the new "Stampin' Around Fall" stamp set and "Tiny Doily Metal Dies" (6 dies). Kimberly gave me the opportunity once again to design this fun stamp set along with these awesome doily dies.
This stamp set is great for Fall, with three circle sentiments for our teachers, and three Fall themed circle sentiments, as well as three Halloween themed circle sentiments.  Included with this set are 13 tiny images to mix and match.
The Tiny Doily Dies coordinates with the Stampin' Around Fall stamp set, and is also fun and versatile it can also be used with many other stamp sets, you will want to add this to your collection.

For my project I made a super cute teacher apple box using the Sweet Tooth Boxes cricut cartridge.  I haven't purchased a cricut cartridge for quite a while, until recently.... when I purchased this cartridge... my favorite place to shop for cartridges... ebay!  I picked up this one for less than $15 with free shipping.
My apple box (cupcake box) was cut ath 10"
The leaf was cut using Walk in My Garden cricut cartridge, the stem was cut by hand.
Below is one of the circle sentiment stamps and the apple stamp image from the Stampin' Around Fall stamp set that I used for my tag, the fun paper doily shape and the doughnut shape are from the Tiny Tags Metal Dies.
I attached the tag using Vintage Cherry Twine.
This stamp set and metal dies will be available for purchase at My Craft Spot on Saturday (8 Sept. 2012).
Flip side of my tag.. it's double sided, another circle sentiment stamp with the book stamp image.
Side view of the tag, I popped up the doughnut shaped image using craft foam. Did you know that your metal dies can cut craft foam (sometimes called -fun foam)? That's what I did with the doughnut shaped metal die.
Apple box opened.
