Thinking of You Teapot -My Craft Spot Project

Hello friends, welcome back for another great challenge for My Craft Spot. 

 Today's challenge is...

Buttons and Bows 

Make a project using buttons and bows.

I enjoyed making this card, the adorable teapot is a steel die (die-namics) called Always Time for Tea from My Favorite Things, I just love how each piece is able to be cut separately, the die even has a teacup and tiny little spoon, so sweet.
I used the Lacy Oval Spellbinders die behind the teapot
The flower punch is an older punch from Stampin Up, and these sweet tiny buttons I had in my stash for a while, so I was glad to use them.

The paper collection is DCWV Garden Party mat stack, and I used my sewing machine for the stitching along with a bit of lace from my stash.

The sentiment is from My Craft Spot, Sweet Sentiments #1 clear stamp set.

This lovely crinkle ribbon is also from My Craft Spot this is Raspberry Truffle.

You're My Hero -Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Project

It's a wonderful day to think of those people who have sacrificed so much for us so we can have the freedom and comforts that we do. 

Yes, Memorial day is a day to remember and honor those who have died in our nation's service, but for me it's also a day to honor and remember friends and family members who have died. 

As a young girl my mother would always pick a huge bouquet of purple iris's from our yard and as a family we would visit the grave sites of my grandparents. My parents would talk about the past and we always saw relatives there who were visiting just as we were. It's a beautiful memory for me, because I believe that death is not the end.

Today's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is...

Memorial Day

Make a project using the color red plus anything that makes you think of Memorial Day (ie. a flag, military symbol, or poppy).

Remember to use at least one image on your project that has been cut using your cricut machine.

For my project I made a memory frame with the theme of how a child may remember a loved one, and since my husband is in the Air Force the image from A Child's Year cricut cartridge just jumped out at me page 69 cut at 3.3" high (measurement using my gypsy).  The captain "wings" were cut .92" high.
The stars were cut using George and Basic Shapes cricut cartridge cut at various sizes.
All paper images except for the black shadow, were inked using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo. 

I used a stamp set from My Favorite Things, Well Worn Greetings and used the coordinating Die-namics die to cut the oval.

I added stitching using my sewing machine and inked all the stitching with vintage photo.

The items that I used from Wild Orchid Crafts are the brown/yellow tone Cherry Blossoms and the 1 1/4" rose leaves.  I grouped 5 blossoms together and three leaves, I added antique photo Tim Holtz ink on the leaves, then on the wire stems I wound vintage cherry bakers twine from My Craft Spot and tied a bow.

Hello Sunshine - CC Designs Stamp

I'm still practicing using my Copic markers and I'm really enjoying using them. This adorable image is a CC Designs Sugarplums rubber stamp set called "Take a Seat" from All That Scraps the set can be found -HERE. This set has 12 images, 6 characters (5 girls 1 boy) and 6 seats (wagon, bench, chair etc.)
I've wanted to get a few CC Designs stamps from All That Scraps and thought this would be a great set to start with. The designer paper is from DCWV "The Green Stack" mat stack.

Copic colors used:

Hair: E31, E13, E 29

Skin: E50, E01, E35 cheeks R20

Shirt: C1 and Colorless blender

Shoes: R20, R22

Roses: R20, R22, R29

Leaves & Grass: G21, G28

Wall: E50, E13, E33

Shadow: C1

I decided to do a bit of paper piecing with this little girl's clothes, and I really liked this image above from the mat stack and though that would look so cute as her jacket.  So I decided to scan the image on my computer and make it smaller so the floral images would fit on her jacket, I like how it turned out. The pants are paper pieced too but not resized as the jacket was.

For the "Hello Sunshine" phrase I used a clear stamp with Versafine black ink.  This phrase is from My Craft Spot, Butterfly Kisses stamp set. I also used crinkle ribbon, Sunshine Yellow and Maraschino bakers twine from My Craft Spot.  The charm I've had in my stash for a long time.

Way to Go Graduate -My Craft Spot Project

I'm so thrilled to have the opportunity to be on My Craft Spot design team and share with you my crazy love for creating with paper! 

Each of the 8 design team members will post a project every other week with the option to post on our "off" week if we choose. This happens to be my first "off" week, but I couldn't resist creating a project for this weeks challenge.

Challenge #56

Congratulations!

(graduation, new baby, new job etc.)

With my niece graduating this year I wanted to make her a fun card to celebrate her special occasion of graduating High School.  I used her school colors, brown and gold and added designer paper to give it more of a feminine/girly feel.  

I found the tutorial for this graduation shape card on You Tube -HERE, the instructions were very helpful and easy to follow.

The tassel is made from embroidery floss, again found instructions from a You Tube video -HERE again great instructions.

I love to learn new creative ideas (at least new to me) and often find what ever I'm looking for on You Tube... Love that visual learning!

Have you seen the "Tiny Tags" stamp set that Kimberly has for sell at My Craft Spot? It's a great set with sentiments for many occasions, perfect for a small tag as they were designed for... but did you ever think you could use one of those small phrases on card, it can be done and I think it worked out perfect for this card!

Inside view of card, those brown edges fold in when closed and this card fit's perfectly in an A2 size envelope. The cardstock is Chocolate Chip and More Mustard from Stampin' Up!

Added some stitching using my sewing machine.

I used my mounting tape to pop up the sentiment to give it more dimension.
