Day 3 Ornate Labels Halloween & Metal Die

Today's sneak peek is a spooky Halloween stamp set, Ornate Labels Halloween, and its coordinating Ornate Labels metal die set, again I had the privilege of designing this stamp set and metal die. This stamp set is perfect for your Halloween projects.

I made a simple treat bag along with the Ornate Labels stamp set and die I used a few cuts using my Cricut machine. The spiders are from the Doodle Charms cricut cartridge, the wand is from the Paper Dolls Dress Up cricut cartridge.

The small spider I attached to a tiny clothespin, both spiders I added glossy accents to along with red rhinestones for the eyes.

I love this saying that is in the Ornate Labels Halloween stamp set... "Magic is everywhere if you know where to look".

I added glossy accents to the wand then sprinkled generously with dazzling diamond glitter.

Melon Boy for my FCCB Challenge #70

Hi everyone,

I'm so excited to be back playing with Fantabulous Circut's design team with weekly challenges, and daily inspiration.

This weeks challenge is "Melon Time"
Make a project using any fruit or melon.

I went with a watermelon as my fruit... just couldn't resist, don't you just love eating a ripe juicy watermelon? I have a friend who does not like watermelon, she loves the look but just not the taste, so every year she gives watermelon another taste just in case her taste buds have changed for the delicious red juicy fruit. I do hope one day she learns to like it like I do.... mmmmmmmm.

OK, now to my project "Melon Boy," he too can't resist the taste of watermelon, and I'm sure he will see how far he can spit the seeds when gets them in his mouth.

I used three cartridges for this project and my gypsy, Doodlecharms for the watermelon cut at 5.83" wide x 4.62" high, the small watermelon is cut at 1.68" wide x 1.33" high then I cut this in half for the boy to hold.
The boy/farmer is cut at 3.58" wide x 5" high, his clothes can be found on page 68 of the handbook. I cut the shirt out twice so I could fold the boy's arm over and have the sleeve showing on the other side, and folded his thumb up so it looks like he is holding the watermelon.
I used my gypsy to weld the watermelon and a rectangle from George and Basic Shapes cartridge, just for a unique style of card.

I used Tim Holtz distress ink (vintage photo) on all the pieces before assembling, it sure makes the boy look like he has been playing in the dirt all day long. For the face I used the Basic Paper Doll Face stamp set from Peechy Keen Stamps. Then two little brads were place on his overalls for a super cute finishing touch... what a sweet boy... who loves watermelon.

Guest Designer for Everyday Cricut -Leaf Shape Card

I'm so excited that Joy from Everyday Cricut asked me back as a guest designer this week, I had a blast in June when I go to share a few Summer and Father's day projects, view those posts -HERE. This week I'll have a few Fall, Thanksgiving and then Christmas/Winter projects. I hope you'll join me all week long and gather some awesome inspiration for your crafting projects.

I love Fall, it's a gorgeous time of year, I love to see the beautiful colored leaves on the trees, although most are now covering the ground ready to be raked into a huge pile and then jumped into by smiling faces, young and old. :)

My first inspirational project this week is a lovely leaf shaped fall card, I added a birthday sentiment, but it surely could be used for any type of greeting. I have a Design Studio cut file for this project at the end of this post.

Candy Corn Gift Tag -Video

Candy Corn Cricut Gift Tag -FREE cut file

It's Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut the challenge is called "Frighten Me... or Not". OK, so my project is not frightening at all and I rarely, if ever, make any of my Halloween projects scary, it's just not in my nature.

I'm sharing a super quick gift tag that is perfect to add to a quick little gift or treat bag.

It's a Candy Corn gift card.

I have a simple Design Studio cut file at the end of this post

For the mini card tag I scored in the center then folded.

First layer (building from the tag base upward) is white with no slits, then next layer is orange, I cut off the top so the white would show. The top layer it is yellow and I cut at the bottom slit. SEW Ghostly -Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

September is National sewing month, and even thou it's almost October I'm getting a bit of sewing in to celebrate.

Fantabulous Cricut is having another great challenge this week...

Create a project using some type of stitching, hand, machine, or faux stitching

I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cricut cartridge for the spider web and the ghost pg. 49, the spiders are from Doodlecharms cartridge pg. 121. For the letters I used George and Basic Shapes cartridge and used my Design Studio to weld the letters together.

I poked holes in the cut out "boo" using a piercing pad and tool.

Then used a needle and black embroidery floss (2 strands) to hand sew in the holes that I made.

I used Doodlecharms cratridge for the apple and apple boarder, I created the card in Design Studio and have a cut file available at the end of this post.

The word "Thank you" was printed using my computer, the I used scissors to cut a tag shape, punched a hole and added twine to the tag.

Challenge #18

Cool Yummy Treat w/ optional shape card/project

Create a shape card (not required, just suggested) using ice cream, watermelon etc on your project.

One of my favorite summer time treats a cherry popsicle, so refreshing.
I have a design studio cut file at the end of this post.

I chose to make a Popsicle shape card with a clear (wrapper) sleeve. Card size is approx. 3 3/4" x 5 1/2". I used 4 cartridges for this project, and design Studio.
The cartridges... Doodlecharms for the popsicle, Doodletype for the word "popsicle", George and Basic Shapes for the oval, and From my Kitchen for the cherries.

Just think, you could do different colors of popsicles for you favorite flavors, like yellow for banana flavor, then add a banana instead of a cherry on the "wrapper", or how about grape... hmmm what could you do for the yummy rootbeer flavor. :)

Apple Shaped Card

There are only a few weeks of school left for for summer vacation, and this is a great time to make a project to thank those teachers who have given much time in helping our children learn.

I have enjoyed making shaped cards using design studio, so I couldn't resist creating an apple shaped card. Cut file available at the end of this post.

I used a safe edge can opener to open the can, I did not want any sharp edges. Cereal boxes make a nice thickness for fake chipboard.
I used my Cricut expressions machine to cut the letters "love" using the Storybook cartridge. The cricut deep cuting blade was used with pressure at 5 speed at 3 and my blade at 6. I also used multi-cut.
Using cardstock and patterned paper I cut out the letters and the smaller overlays, I cut the letter out using the flip image, these were adhered to the chipboard.

I used my "Swiss Dots" and "Textile Texture" cuttlebug folders on the scalloped hearts, then gently rubbed an ink pad over the embossed image.

Adhered heart layers and letters to the chipboard. Then straightened large paper clips using wire cutters, then hot glued them to my letters and various shaped hearts. The hearts were cut using the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge page 85.
The heart boarder on the can was the heart border feature (Doodlecharms pg. 85). I used design studio to weld a strip of hearts together.
Then using my cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" embossing folder, embossed the heart border (the photo shows how I was able to emboss a long strip with the narrow folder) I just moved the border about 3 times to get it all embossed.
I then measured around the can and cut a strip of patterned paper and two white strips one narrow and the other wide. I used a scallop cutting blade with my paper trimmer to get the scallop edge on the white cardstock.
Pop-dots were used on the heart border to adhere to the can.

I place the letters and hearts into green floral foam that was placed inside of the can. Then small paper clips were straightened with wire cutters, then folded in half, these were used to place large and small square pieces of white tissue paper into the floral foam.
