Happy Anniversary Card Join our Challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog

Hi, so glad you joined me on my card share today.
I am so excited to be back with Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and joining the bi-monthly challenges.

This weeks challenge: Anniversary Theme

I am so blessed to have wonderful parents who lovingly cared for me and took me to church every Sunday, which definatly gave me a strong foundation in life.  And today, October 29, happens to be my Mom and Dads anniversary... yep today, so below is my card I mailed to them for their anniversary.

I designed this card in Cricut Design Space using the Sweetheart cartridge, the images I used are the heart and the word love.

 I used American Crafts vanilla cardstock, Recollections gold cardstock and patterned paper from my stash.

 I had fun adding layers to give stunning dimension, the heart and love word were cut out 4 times each with the vanilla cardstock then I glued one on top of the other.  I hand stamped Happy Anniversary using Lawn Fawn stamp set "Happy Happy Happy" in black ink.

I randomly added white sticky pearls from my stash of supplies.

FCCB Vinyl *Cricut Crawl*

Hello everyone, it's time to get started for our FCCB Vinyl EDU Cricut Crawl  (Fantabulous Cricut's version of a Blog Hop)!!

All my images for my wood blocks are from the Happy Hauntings cricut cartridge.
Although my tree the pumpkin eyes and mouths look white during the day, this vinyl "Glows In The Dark".... it is so cool!!!  I tried to get a photograph of the vinyl with the lights off, but I couldn't get a good photo with my camera :(

This wood block is approx 5" square, makes a fun Halloween home decor item.

My BOO is also using the glow in the dark vinyl, the larges block is approx. 2 1/4" square.

Make A Splash -Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

Hello everyone, I'm so glad you joined me today.

Today's challenge for Fantabulous Cricut is...

Make a Splash

Create a project with a water theme (pool, beach, water park etc.)

I used Life's a Beach Cricut cartidge along with Sammy the Seal he's a digi image, more details about him below.

They have generously given the design team members a few of their adorable digital images to create with.  I'm using Circus Seal Sammy, he can be found -HERE. Sammy is super cute and just had to go to the beach to play today!

It's been a while since I've picked up my copic markers, oh and it felt so good to color again. The colors I used are C1, C3 & C5 for the seal, the ball and fluffy collar... yellows, Y00, Y13 & Y18, reds R22, R24 & R29.

I still feel like an amateur and continue learning different copic coloring techniques.

For my scene at the beach I used the Life's a Beach cricut cartridge, the waves are on page 77 of the handbook and were cut at 1 1/2", the beach chair on pg. 81 cut at 2 1/4" and the seagulls on pg. 79 cut at 1 1/2".

 My life preserve is cut from the Tiny Doilies metal dies I stamped the words using the Stampin' Around Summer stamp set, the twine is Cherry Red.  All these items can be purchased from My Craft Spot store -HERE. 

I added a bit of inking on the beach chair using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo, the edge of the card is inked using Tea Die ink. Then just added a few black dots on the sand.

Red White and Blue Fantabulous Cricut Cricut Crawl

Hello everyone I'm so excited you've joined me on my blog today. My blog is the last stop for the Fantabulous Cricut... Cricut Crawl (our version of a Blog Hop) so in honor of the 4th of July holiday, our theme is Red, White and Blue.  Each Design Team member has created a fabulous project using Red, White and Blue as the main colors, and of course at least one Cricut cut!

I had a fun home decor Item that I wanted to create for this crawl... but unfortunately I had a struggle with Cricut Craft Room a bit, and when I finished designing my project my computer and cricut maching just wouldn't cooporate. Hopefully I'll get it to cut this week and when I do I'll share it with you.

So instead I decided to make this cute 4th of July card using the A Child's Year cricut cartridge the image I used is on page 45 of the handbook cut at 3 3/4". I love the glitter paper it was purchased in single sheets from JoAnn's.

The border punch is from EK Success I believe it's called "Slim Edger Circle Chain".

 I used My Craft Spot Denim crinkle ribbon for my bow, the 4th of July sentiment is from the new Tiny Tags 3 stamp set that was just released on Saturday From My Craft Spot.
The banner is the Lacy Banners Metal Dies that I designed and is available from My Craft Spot.

I used black craft foam to pop these cute kids up off the card, I love the dimension that it gave.

Spa Towel Cake -Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Project

Hi everyone, I'm excited to share another 3D project with you all, remember each Monday begins with a new challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, and this weeks challenge...

"Wedding Days"

I made this spa towel cake a few months ago for a friends bridal shower but had not posted it yet, so today is a great day to show it off.

I love the hint of cream and blue flowers added around the twill. The flowers are from the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge.

I wrapped a few bath towels around each other, then tied with fun crinkle, added spa items around the bottom of the cake (glue dots were attached to the bottom of the bottles, they still had to be held in place when carrying the cake so they didn't fall off), a mesh pouf sponge with a handle on the top.

Below is the photo of the back of the towel cake.  I used twill down the back to represent a brides veil

A simple card using the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge for the flowers with Recollections gems in the center.  I'm sorry I can't remember which font I used for the word "Congratulations", but I do remember I welded the letters together using my gypsy (before it died... yes my gypsy is dead I'm very sad about that). I inked all the edges using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.

Hey Cupcake -Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Project

Hey Cupcake  it's another Fantabulous Challenge at FCCB... and it's going to make you hungry!

This weeks Challenge...

Yummy Yummy

Make a project with any type of summer dessert (ice cream, popsicle, fruit etc.)

My project is a a yummy cupcake shape card...mmmmmmmmmm.

This cupcake is from the Cake Basic cricut cartridge on pg. 52 of the handbook cut at 4" high.  I used my gypsy to weld the two plain shadow blackout images together, then cut the cupcake and cupcake wrapper using the plain base image and omitting the lines on the wrapper. Cut a few extra layers to create more of a 3-D look.

I used my paper crimper to crimp the wrapper then added a bit of ink to the raised edges.

I used a tiny flower punch that was purchased for $1 at Micheal's Craft Store, the pearls are recollection pearls.

FCCB DT handmade gift swap Banner

I have to tell you that I'm on a few fantastic design teams and Fantabulous Cricut is no exception.  

As creator and design team member of Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog we have occasional card swaps amongst each other and this time around we also had a handmade gift swap, I got to make a gift for design team member Holly -Ribbons and Glue.  

Below is my project that I made for her, I was inspired by a video that I saw on You Tube -HERE. 

The banner was cut using the Country Life cricut cartridge, scalloped circles from Mini Monograms, and the letters cut from Winter Woodland cartridge.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I am Roses, the pearl embellishments are from Recollections.

Wrinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique. I hope Holly likes her gift.

For Dad Golf Cart -Fantabulous Cricut Challenge project

Hello, for today's My Craft Spot Challenge please click -HERE.

It's another Fantabulous Monday which brings another challenge from Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, this week we are celebrating our wonderful fathers.

 Challenge #115 -Fathers Day

Make a project using an outdoor theme, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking etc.

For my outdoor theme I choose golf, because my honey is getting a new set of clubs this year... shhhhh.
I have another amazing shape card to share! Do you have Everyday Paper Dolls cricut cartridge and have not played with it for a while?  Well then, it's time to blow the dust of that one and use it!  Yep I used Everyday Paper Dolls cricut cartridge the images are from pg. 54 of the handbook. I used the golf cart, bag with clubs, flag, tee, and the ball image.

By layering several layers and cutting different colors of cardstock for one image you get an amazing 3-d look.  For example, for the golf bag with clubs I used two different colors, red for the bag and silver for the clubs (I also cut the flag pole with the silver at the same time). 

Below: I've cut the red bag three times, for the silver I only needed the clubs cut, so on my gypsy I pulled the image down toward the bottom right of the mat leaving only the clubs and just the top of the bag showing.  

I hope this gives you an idea of how I make my detailed, layered, shape cards.

 I've thought about making a video, if you are interested leave a comment so I know there is an interest ;)

This card will fit an A2 size envelop, my card measures approximately 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

I love the "for Dad" tag wrapped around the golf cart, it's from the stamp set Tiny Tags, the Bakers Twine name is Vintage Cherry both can be purchased from My Craft Spot.  I love the Tiny Tags Stamp Set.

All the cardstock is from Stampin Up, except for the "designer seat cover" and "steering wheel cover" (patterned paper I had is my stash), the grass cut using the Martha Stewart grass border punch with Coordinations cardstock.

All images were inked up using Tim Holtz Distress Ink -Tea Dye except the tag and blue background.

Close up view of bag, tee and golf ball. I poked holes to give the bag a "faux stitching" look added a stitched 3-d pocket.

Close up of the golf cart, my husband's nickname is "Slick" so I cut the word using the Birthday Bash cartridge, the used the cut out image as a stencil and sponged the word onto the cart, looks cool!

I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the blue cardstock to look like the sky.

I decided to make this a tri-fold card so there would be a larger area for my girls to write a message to dad. It's longer then 12"x 12" that is why the blue cardstock is hanging over the edge.
