Herb Garden -Cardabilities Sketch #7

I got to play with my new cricut cartridge Freshly Picked. I love gardens, flower gardens, vegetable gardens and even orchards, I do have my own tiny vegetable garden although I don't have much of a green thumb, but I try.

At Cardabilites this week we created using sketch #7 to design a card.

I used my Design Studio to create this card, I made the scallop edges by welding images from George and Basic Shapes, Home Accent, and Home Decor cartridges. I have the cut file at the end of this post if you are interested in duplicating this card.
My little herb garden is from Freshly Picked cricut cartridge page 40 of the handbook. I love how it turned out.

This is sketch #7 that we got to create from.
Cardabilities shares two great sketches each month on the 15th and 30th, along with several ideas from the design team which I'm thrilled to be a part of. Go see more wonderfully creative ideas using sketch #7 -HERE

Flowers in a Pot -Cardabilities Sketch #6

I really enjoy working with sketches, this week I played with sketch #6 for our Cardabilities challenge... love it!

This sweet flower pot is from Pink Petticoat digital stamps, I love Dene's simple whimsical style. I used my copic markers to color this image, then added just a little bling to the pot.

For the "Thinking of You" image I used my George and Basic Shapes cricut cartridge on page 127 of the handbook. The Scallops are various sized from the Mini Monograms cartridge.

Chicken N' Eggs

I'm playing with another great sketch from "Cardabilities" blog today.

I have a very good friend who lives outside of town that we get our chicken eggs from, so I wanted to make her a thank you card and thought this would be perfect... cluck, cluck.

I used my design studio to create the sizing of each image. I love using DS, I find is so easy to get just the exact size to fit my 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card (or what every size of card I'm working with).

This is sketch #5 that Karan, from Cardabilites, has created for us to use for this weeks challenge. Love this sketch!
I feel so lucky to be on the Design Team, with a wonderful group of talented ladies.
See what the Cardabilities design team created using the same sketch -HERE

I used the following three cartridges: From my Kitchen, George and Basic Shapes & Home Accents.
*From my Kitchen- Eggs pg. 66, Rooster pg. 77, Scalloped Oval and Oval pg. 76 (sheep body), Tab pg.67
*George- Rectangles pg. 109 (adjusted sizing)
*Home Accents- Leaves (#35 on my key pad- various sizes)

Wild for Wild Flowers

It's time for another Cardabilities Sketch, I really enjoy Karan's sketches, she creates such fun designs to work with.
I used a flower pot from Pink Peticoat, I love her simply cute digital stamps.

Here is the sketch we got to work with...

I colored using Copic markers, and used Mini Monograms cricut cartridge for the scallops and circle, the flourish design is from the Heritage cartridge pg. 62. I made my own background paper starting with a white piece of cardstock, then used a black sharpie to draw thick lines, then added a hot pink marker to the white space. I like how it turned out an matched the "wild" flower pot.

Go take a look at the other gals creations from the same sketch -HERE at Cardabilities. I love working with sketches.

Baby Giraffe -with Cardabilites Sketch

To be honest with you, I have never really been a "sketch" person, I would look at sketches and didn't quite get it..... until I tried it!! I tried out for the Cardabilities design team a few months back so I could completely challenge myself to use sketches, I was thrilled when I made the team and now I'm truly a firm believer that using "sketches" can make sooooo much simpler and take half the brain work of creating, but still so much fun!

Today is Sketch #3 over at Cardabilities, here is my card.
This digi stamp is from Meljen's Designs, I just love her artsy creations!
The word "Baby" is from the Storybook cricut cartridge, this font is so cute cut out small!!! The flowers are tiny prima flowers.

Here is the #3 sketch, give this sketch a try then come over to Carabilites blog and add your creation to Mr. Linky.

Bicycle Journey

I'm so excited to share my next "Cardabilities Sketch" #2.

My card is a 6" x 6", it was fun to do a square card, not my usual style but I really liked making it.
The pattern cardstock is from DCWV Pockets full of Posies Stack. I used my new "Heritage" Cricut cartridge to cut out the bike pg 63 at 2" and the word Journey pg. 71 at 1 1/4". The fun shape behind the bike is from Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge pg. 79 cut the shape twice 3" for the patterned cardstock and 3 1/2" for the dark purple cardstock.

Here is the sketch, I flipped this design upside down for my card.

For the word I cut it twice then carefully cut the green flourish off and added on top of the purple flourish.
